Ongoing WIPO Negotiations
As a global forum for intellectual property, WIPO constantly endeavours to foster greater harmonisation of intellectual property rules around the world, provide technical assistance to its member States in this field and promote cooperation to enable them to use intellectual property for their economic, social and cultural development.
In the field of copyright and related rights, various committees regularly meet to discuss further norm setting options or update existing conventions, in light of technological developments and the need to strike a fair balance among the interests of right holders, those of civil society, developing countries and emerging economies.
