Organising Forum: Approaches to Union Organising of Freelance and Self-Employed Workers

As part of our joint project "Reaching the Potential of Social Dialogue for All Workers: Organising and Representing Atypical Workers in the Media, Arts and Entertainment Sector", FIA, together with FIM, UNI MEI and EFJ will be organising a 1,5 day event this Autumn, dedicated to reflection on the challenges of organising atypical workers in our sector, in particular freelance and self-employed workers.

The event will be a mixture of workshopping, training, exchanging and presenting inspiring examples, as well as looking for relevant experience from outside the trade union sector. It will aim to drive forward the thinking and practice in union organising in our sector.

The project is funded by the European Commission and so we will have some 12 fully reimbursed spaces at this event (travel and accommodation costs) for FIA members from EU and candidate countries interested in attending this event.

It will take place in the NH Atlanta Rotterdam on 30 and 31 October 2018.
