Future of Work Blog: Two new articles on Digital Replicas and on the Irish Basic Income for the Arts Scheme

Working Conditions Labour Rights and Collective Bargaining Artificial Intelligence EuroFIA News Uncategorized

After a hiatus, we have relaunched the blog (collective-bargaining-atypical-work.eu) created in the framework of our Atypical Work projects. It was created to offer short form reflections on legal and policy themes around future of work, across areas such as collective bargaining for solo-self-employed workers, as well as digital change and the impact of AI on work.

We have recently published two excellent articles that we hope you will enjoy. The first is from legal expert Mathilde Pavis, who has been a guest speaker at the EuroFIA, the FIA Executive and Atypical Work events in the past. She has written an informative article on AI, Digital Replicas and the protections performers need in relation to these uses.

The second comes from Brian O Donnell  currently based in the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport in Ireland. He joined the Department in 2023 and works in the Basic Income for the Arts Research Unit. He has contributed a detailed overview of the results of the randomized control trial that has accompanied the introduction of Ireland’s Basic Income for the Arts Scheme, capturing in numbers the very real benefits that the scheme has delivered to creative professionals in Ireland in receipt of this minimum income payment.
