FIA Stands with Disneyland Cast Members: Global Support for Fair Contract Negotiations

Conditions de travail Droits du travail et négociation collective Activités FIA-NA Campagnes et solidarité Actualités

The International Federation of Actors (FIA) and its worldwide membership stand in unequivocal solidarity with the Actors’ Equity Association and the Disneyland entertainment Cast Members as they fight for a fair first union contract. After nearly 10 months of stalled negotiations, Disneyland’s management continues to disrespect its workers, behind closed doors, while publicly championing its commitment to employees. The time to act is now.

A Fight for Basic Respect

Since October 2024, Disneyland Cast Members have been bargaining for their first union contract. Yet, management has dragged out negotiations, undermining workers’ dignity and ignoring their contributions to the magic of Disney. Now, essential benefits are at risk, including flexible scheduling (trades to off, PTO, holidays, parental leave, vacations), matching 401(k) contributions, and wage increases.

Disney prides itself on a public image of care, investment, and respect for its employees. But how can they claim to value their workers while stripping away the very benefits that sustain their livelihoods?

As performers, we understand the power of collective action. The memories created by Disneyland Cast Members are integral to the guest experience, and their labor deserves fair compensation and respect. FIA urges Disneyland’s management to negotiate in good faith and honor the workers who bring their stories to life.
