With the financial support of Union To Union, Sweden, FIA has scheduled a workshop in association with UNI MEI and FIM to continue to push for higher health and safety standards in the Bollywood film industry. Facing an appalling accident (and casualty) rate and close to inexistent risk prevention procedures, the prevailing philosophy among film and television producers in Mumbai still seems to be that it is cheaper to replace labour than to invest in robust health and safety at the workplace. The workshop will gather all film workers’ unions in Mumbai.
