In July 2021, the regional groups of the International Federation of Actors (FIA-LA) and the Media, Entertainment & Arts sectors of UNI Global Union (UNI Americas MEI / Panartes) and their affiliates launched an online survey on violence and harassment in the workplaces of the audiovisual and performing arts industries in Latin America.
Today FIA has created a special page on it’s website to share the outcomes and campaign material created based on the survey results. Each union is invited to use it to spread awareness and initiate change at national and regional level. The resources made available on this page include:
1/ The final report and analysis of the “Regional Survey on Violence and Harassment in the Workplace in the Audiovisual and Performing Arts Industry in Latin America” in available is Spanish, Portuguese and English
2/ Graphic pieces in Spanish and Portuguese meant to raise awareness about the current situation in Latin America available for download
3/ Videos in Spanish, English and Portuguese featuring the most striking data collected in the survey with a call to action
4/ FIA and UNI-MEI Manuals; In order to help members to take action, both Federations have created tailor made Manuals. Each guide aims to be a practical tool for advocacy and a useful model for any union in the sector wishing to develop its own strategy to fight sexual harassment at national level. Both are available in English, Spanish and French
The survey and campaign materials are regional trade union initiatives supported by Union to Union, the Swedish trade union movement’s organisation for international development cooperation.
