FIA regularly holds several meetings and events such as workshops, conferences, congresses, etc. Some of these activities are of more specific relevance to its regional and linguistic groups. FIA Past Events
Congresses are very significant landmarks in the life of the Federation. Currently held every four years, they bring together the entire FIA membership with a view to formulating framework policies, passing motions, establishing new priorities and electing members of the Presidium and the Executive Committee.

The FIA Executive Committee meets at least three times in between Congresses. It is composed of at least one representative from affiliated unions in fifteen different countries, comprising the seven countries of the FIA Presidium members. Elections for the FIA Executive Committee are held every four years at Congress.
