Sectoral Social Dialogue Live Performance

Labour Rights and Collective Bargaining EU Social Dialogue Other Events Upcoming Events

The European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee on Live Performance will convene on Friday March 3rd 2023. The draft agenda and invitation will be sent to regular participants. The meeting will take place in a hybrid format, however we warmly invite delegates to condsider attending in person in Brussels, where we also expect an in-person eployer delegation.

The Commission will cover all travel expenses and include a per diem for hotel and subsistence costs. The timing of the meeting would probably require travel on the 2nd of March and departure on the afternoon of the 3rd.

The Committee’s areas of work include:

  • social dialogue and the role of the social partners at European and national level
  • health and safety (e.g. risk assessment and risk prevention, impact of covid crisis)
  • training and skills (pact for skills and work towards a Framework of Actions on Skills in conjunction with the audiovisual sector)
  • Gender Equality on and off-stage
  • Green Live Performance Production
  • Mobility issues for performers working abroad (including the problem of double taxation)
  • public funding for the sector
  • European policy developments that are of relevance to the sector (eg: living and working conditions of artists under the European Agenda for Culture).

It is vital to have a strong representation in the European social dialogue committee to ensure its work stays closely abreast of, and relevant to, challenges on the ground. As always, we invite European unions who are available to do so to consider joining the committee’s meetings, even on a sporadic basis. If you are interested in participating, please contact the FIA secretariat.
